What daily goals do you have, and do you usually make them? If so, then by how much? I have my goal set at 20 XP but I usually get like 100XP or something. Just wondering if I'm like average or low or high or something.

100XP is very good, especially if you can keep it up. You'll be done with the tree in a few months instead of a year or more like most people.

Be careful with that though, Duolingo is best if you use it IN ADDITION to your school work.

They have done some good work with the German tree, girl. But you are much better off following a textbook, even if it is online, then using Duolingo to supplement that. I am afraid that if you only study on Duolingo, then when you need to take a test, it may not test you on the same material.

I wasn't talking about german... I meant just like regular schoolwork. Anyway, I think I can manage school on my own, I'm rather smart :)

Thanks. :D I just love learning about anything foreign, including the languages. And being an American I'm lucky that I grew up speaking English, So I wouldn't have to learn it later. Although I might take the English course on this site later to improve my Spanish skills. :)

Oh, for me I just plan to get past at least two sections like 'plurals' or 'phrases' a day, and a usually get that done. When I'm lucky I can maybe even get three or four. :D

Honestly? I only have a 10 XP goal. If I don't feel like learning languages much it's easy enough to achieve, but it doesn't stop me from practicing more if I want to spent more time on it.

Exactly my point! And wow, you're learning a LOT of languages. You go, girl!

I keep my goal at 10xp/day, because I know that sometimes things change and I won't be able to continue my streak. 10xp/day is my "official" goal, although I always aim for 20 or higher. I don't want to lose my streak just because I had to go to a spur-of-the-moment party, or something of the like.

Well I have a 30 XP goal. I love learning my Spanish!!! Oh and..... Yes! I usually make my own goals. I like being able to change my goals! Because I can always change them when I have off days! :)

For a while I had it set at that, but then on my off days it was too hard to earn that much

I originally had mine set for the default 10 but normally got much more. But then I decided to drop it to 1. For me there is not advantage to having a higher goal.

this might sound a little high considering I just started Duolingo but I shoot for 100 XP everyday! Do you guys think that's a little to high?

Well not really, but once you get further into the german course, it does get a lot harder... It takes me a while to earn 100XP at this point, and that's with me doing a bit of two other languages :)

Not if you're motivated! ^^;

It depends. The Spanish course has an Immersion mode so 100XP is cake. Getting 100XP on the tree is pretty good though. I'd say that on the high end of normal for someone who is serious about finishing the tree and learning Spanish.

I get over 100xp every day just on strengthening alone. Past the last checkpoint on the Norwegian tree, but I wouldn't quite say "almost finished" yet. On most days all I do is strengthen and that takes up a considerable amount of time. 100xp per day on just new lessons would be a lot, yeah.

My goal has always been set at 50xp/day, but I'm trying to learn Dutch fairly quickly.

If I'm not feeling up to doing much, what I do is take a skill that's not at full strength and do a couple timed practices with it. Or I do timed practice in general. You can get up to 20xp/timed practice. Some days I do lots of new stuff, and some I just do practice. :)

My daily goal is 10. The reason is that my bare minimum for a day at least on review per language. Since the lowest you can get on an untimed review is 3. So that means 5 * 3 = 15, so if I will meet my goal doing my bare minimum for the day. I usually get a lot more than that in a day though. My daily experience fluctuates a lot though.

To live to see the day that Yiddish enters beta. That is my goal.

Hah! I'm just waiting for JavaScript and maybe some Elvish from LOTR. Body language, also, so that I don't have to even open my mouth. Maybe it could teach some instruments? Maybe I'm just nuts.
