it is the nature of jam to have lots of sugar

That's true! Traditional jam recipes require 50% sugar. Anything less than that may be considered "low sugar" jam!

Where I live there's a traditional jam made from a type of smaller &sweeter plums & it has no added sugars. It's sooooo good ^__^

How did altogether come into the sentence? Shouldn't "There's too much sugar in the raspberry jam" be right?

"For mye" - too much "Altfor mye" - far too much (or similar colloquialisms)

Too much sugar = for mye sukker Far too much or a lot too much sugar = altfor mye sukker
