Why is готовить wrong?

It focuses more on the process than on the result. Sort of "cooking a big fish is better".

Focusing on the process over result would mean using the imperfective form "готовить".

Но, если пишут «готовит», совершат ошибку? (Sorry, can't pass up word play. But it's a real question - would it actually be wrong?)

Готовить is totally ok here. But the sence can be just more general. Like cooking a big fish is better than cooking a small one.
