Why is готовить wrong?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Morgan1039

It shouldn’t be wrong; perfective isn’t necessary in this case.

It focuses more on the process than on the result. Sort of "cooking a big fish is better".

Focusing on the process over result would mean using the imperfective form "готовить".

Но, если пишут «готовить», совершат ошибку? (Sorry, can't pass up word play. But it's a real question - would it actually be wrong?)

"Пригото́вить" sounds like "to cook something right now".

Готовить is totally ok here. But the sence can be just more general. Like cooking a big fish is better than cooking a small one.

«Лучше готовить большую рыбу» was not accepted, even though it does not have to be perfective in this case.

Reported.

still not accepted as of 28 Aug 2020

Готовить should be definetly accepted

OOPS!!!!! Sorry Duo. I sent in "my answer should be accepted" THEN I realised I used the incorrect word. I don't usually "talk" to fish ))))) I typed лучше говорить большую рыбу ))))))))))))))))))))) Needless to say, my answer SHOULD NOT be accepted, but I hope you got a laugh out of it. "look at the silly foreigner who made a mistake" )))) --------- By the way, fine by me ))) Aussies are the FIRST to laugh at themselves )))))))

edit ....... OK when it came around again, I typed "лучше готовить большую рыбу" yep, I used imperfective. any reason why it cannot be used pleased? I see talk about saying it should be OK, any chance on the contributor or another moderator joining in please?

Is it wrong to start the sentence with "это лучше"? If yes, why?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Jay239607

That's how I understood the english sentence, however I am not a native speaker

If готовить is not wrong it would be very nice to accepte it as a correct answer

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Matthias870809

Готовить should be accepted!!!!!!

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/erdogan_fan1

I have the same question as Steve448292

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Jay239607

Bigger fish is better than a small one

Why is готовить not correct in this sentence? The dictionary says : приготовить see готовить
