Metelitsa translation

This is an old Russian folk song about a snowstorm. We are a small Dutch amateur choir and our Russian conductor is trying to get us to sing Russion folks songs, which we like very much. Because we do not speak Russian we transpose the lyrics into phonetic Dutch, but most of the time we have no idea what we are singing. Could you help us out with an English translation of "Metelitsa"? I have searched the Internet, but to no avail. I just started the Duolingo Russian course, but I think it will be quite while before I will be able to translate the lyrics myself. We would be very grateful if one of you could provide us with a translation. It would help us enormously! Here is the Russian text of Metelitsa:

You're welcome. I used to have a very enjoyable set of Russian folk songs sung by him. He's part Swedish and part Russian. I've often wondered how good his Russian accent is (I am no judge).

I was just about to post the same YouTube link... I'd have beat you to it if I hadn't wasted time looking for a recording by the Alexandrov Ensemble.

I know this song and I don't know why... I don't remember where I learned it. My Russian isn't really good enough to translate, but I'll attempt the first verse at least.

The snowstorm blows along the street, beyond the snow my darling walks. Stand still, stand still, my beautiful one, let me look at you, my joy!

Incidentally, I've never seen the first verse with the masculine "мой миленький" before, it's always been either милая or красавица идёт, which seems to make more sense with what comes later.

This is probably why I know it - Ivan Rebroff sang it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTVhyxOA9_E

Although in this version he does sing "мой миленький идёт"... he also reverses the order of the second and third verses.
