I really would like to have this. I has a type of dysgraphia, a learning disorder that effects writing ability, and it causes me to make some weird mistakes when writing or typing. It's very frustrating to redo a review or a lesson 4-5 times because I keep making the same typos because even though my brain thinks one thing, my hands can do something else, especially if I'm doing the same thing over and over (dysgraphic symptoms often worsen with repetitive tasks). And even with my coping skills--like knowing I need to slow down and recheck things--I can still make dysgraphic mistakes, especially when I get frustrated.

Now that I'm at an advanced level in my languages here, it is slowing me down considerably because the longer and more complex the sentence, the more likely I'll make some small typo and lose a heart. What is incredibly frustrating is it not really helping me to better learn the languages if I'm repeating things I actually know and can't move on to working on things I need to learn or improve. :(

I cannot imagine how frustrating this might be for you. The big problem I see is the following question? How could Duolingo help you in this case? Do you have a suggestion what they possibly could do?

I think if I got the Fix Mistake option it would help me considerably. I think it would help defuse the frustration I feel if I could get a chance to fix a simple typo rather than "Oops! Lost a heart! Here's the next sentence!" That's actually the hardest thing for anyone with a learning disorder to cope with--the inevitable frustration abut getting something wrong not because you didn't know it but because your disability tripped you up. Anything that would help me not get so frustrated would help, which is why I'm really hoping to get this Fix Mistake option soon.

I'm in the Fix Mistake test group and it has been really helpful for me. As it is, I use my fix its and I buy hearts because I have a lot of typos where I know what the answer is but my typing has gone astray. (First I've heard the word dysgraphia though.) I hope they make the Fix It more widely available.

I am not sure what exactly you mean with the button, because I see that button and when I fix my answer, it gives me half of a hear back (i am not aware of being in any test group, but who knows). , But this is not enough for me anyway. I completely agree with you and think this is the worst duolingo feature, by far.

Punishing those who are learning for (almost) every single mistake is a terrible and very discouraging paradigm. I would really suggest this to be changed, to make duolingo an even better platform.

Like you said, not only is it very frustrating for people who make typos (including myself), but even if you really do not know the answer, why should you be punished? I know they want it to make it game-like, but I would prefer positive feedback to those who make no mistakes, rather than negative to those who make them.

I will try to contact them about this, and if someone agrees, he might do the same thing.

I really want the fix mistake option too, I make so many accidental typos. Fixing mistakes would be really helpful.
