It's awesome how often Norwegian words sound like really old-timey German ones. A possible translation would be "Welchen Schlags ist sein Auto?", and saying that would make you sound like a 19th century Prussian officer.
Given he would already know what an "Auto" was ;-)
In English we might also say "What type car....."
Can "ride" be used instead of drive or is there a typical "ride a car" in norsk?
As much as I know, one does not 'ride a car' in English. One just 'drives a car.' You can ride a horse or a bicycle.
Ride is generally used when you sit atop that vehicle, like motorbike, bicycles or horse. As of closed vehicles, we usually drive.
If I want to say 'What kind of car does he want to drive', would it be 'Hva slags bil vil kjøre han' or 'Hva slags bil vil han kjøre'?
'Hva slags bil vil han kjøre?' is your choice.
The tooltip at the bottom is wrong, it just says: "What kind of car does he"
