A/B testing russian??

Second post ever!!

The app always notifies me that Russian is not available yet. This morning I actually did Russian on the app :D. The step is to select Russian on the site and then go to the app. You'll get a popup saying not available for mobile. Click your backspace button and then press strengthen (edit: the third time I tried it I didn't need to press strengthen because it went straight to Russian).. This is the only step I've tried to get it on the app. Good luck ;). Proof. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzFZ7XZ-mS5dbndVVVBjWVk2REk/view?usp=docslist_api

Edit: just showed up https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzFZ7XZ-mS5dSThITDRtWTZrNVU/view?usp=docslist_api

Edit: 2 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzFZ7XZ-mS5dM1dEREdtWkkwLXc/view?usp=docslist_api

Edit: 3

The app stopped letting me progress further. Strengthening still works though... I had to use the site again to progress on to the newer section because the app is not letting me. Better than nothing.

You can still use the mobile version of the site. I actually think it is much better than the app, as you can read the notes to the skills there.

On my iPhone I have to click the button three times before my answer is processed - on the app it only takes one button

The mobile site is slower and the voice doesn't play automatically all the time. I have to tap the button to play the voice multiple times for it play.

Word suggestions doesn't work (also can't tap and correct automatically) and more mistakes on the voice dictation. The app offers a more compact design and the voice is much clearer. The notes are great, but like manuals for everything I never read them.

I suggest you do read them, the team did really great job in creating them (not me, so I'm not bragging, those are just really great materials). They are not just copy paste from some text book but created specifically for each Duolingo skill. I'm 100% sure that you would make better progress if you read them.

The notes are fabulous. It's easy to go back to the old ones and skim them more than once.

I downloaded a guide from shady_arc.. I'm grateful for everything. At least now I can progress further than my book: Russian for dummies :/.

The app also has a lot of very easy exercises that don't teach you anything.

Tips and notes are very important, especially for language like Russian.

This sounds more like a bug than any sort of A/B testing; otherwise Duo and/or the RU team would probably announce something.

Probably is. Have you tried it yourself to see if it works on your end?

I've done three strengthening exercises and the tree has not appeared at all.

Yes, that happened to me too. A fix that worked for me is to start and end the subsection using the site. The tree shows up for me. Look at the second link in the initial post.

I tried this, and it does work! Thanks! I'm only going to use it for review rather than new lessons, but it's nice to have. I did a skill that was near the second checkpoint, so it does work further down the tree, and I didn't have to press strengthen.

Thanks for testing it. Now i know my phone is not possessed :).

I know that the App is a Little bit worst than the site, but it's much easier to use so I still waiting for the Russian course for the App like many other people... :D

I was doing Russian on the app. I posted the pictures in the link as proof. It's just not "official", hence I had to switch back to the site in order to progress to the next section.

Edit: I just tried it and it still works https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzFZ7XZ-mS5dN2RZc1Fia2RLbWM/view?usp=docslist_api
