Completed the German Tree, again!
Completed the German tree this morning! I had finished it before, but then came Tree 2.0 :D Thank you very much to those who developed it!, and for making it the longest X for English speakers tree on Duolingo!
I'm off to work on completing my French tree now :D
(And because I like making graphs, I'd thought I'd share my progess!)
Percentage Completion of Trees
Length of Trees, and Completion
Great job! Your post has inspired me to finish my German tree! Danke Schon :)
Don't forget about the 'ö' my german-speaking friends, cuz you already used the 'ü' :-) "Danke schön!"
Awesome job! I love those graphs. I've always wanted to know the length of each tree.
I'm very glad they updated, vastly improved. I refinished mine moments ago too.
Congrats on completing your tree! I absolutely love that you made graphs to show the progress.
na, da hast du mal richtig gutes getan! ich, als einen Amerikaner der eine Deuschte mu:tter habe, seit das sehr gut aus! mach so wieter! :-) :-) :-)
Na, da hast du mal was richtig Gutes/Tolles gemacht! Für mich, einen Amerikaner der eine deutsche Mutter hat, sieht das sehr gut aus! Mach weiter so!
Great job, congratulations on completing the german tree! I'd love it if you could provide me with some advices on how you managed to accomplish this feat, I'm feeling inspired to do the same . Anyway, great job and keep it up! :D
I think mostly it was productive procrastination! I wasn't writing my essays or revising for exams like I should of done, instead, German was calling for me!
I think also, I just looked at it one day and realised how far along I actually was, and I kinda just thought, why not keep going! So in the summer, I just committed to it, doing it all day for a week. Trying to get through tedious skills (like Modal, I hated that skill for some reason) was quite difficult, but you have to realise, if you just keep trying and trying, you'll complete that skill and unlock fantastic new ones! (I think it was also bad for me at the time, because I did the whole German Tree first time round with the heart system, which was so demotivating when I had to do the same lesson five times!)
Sorry, long post now, but I'm doing the French tree just now too, and it's nice to quantify how much work I'm doing each day. For example, every lesson in the French tree is about 0.3% completion, so in total, I progressed 5% today! If I keep doing that, I'll be done in 20 days! It's just a nice way of putting it I think :)
Apparently! According to my spreadsheet, there are 462 lessons in German, and only 200 in Turkish (nice round number though!)
That sounds reasonable, considering that the Turkish course is shorter than average to begin with, and that the German tree has been added to several times.
wish there was a turkish for german-speakers lesson, cuz we got a lot of turkish people in germany
Also has the number of questions (and or vocabulary words) actually increased in the new German tree or have the old questions just been divided up into more "skills"?
There's been a division, but there's a lot of new content! At the end of the tree, the skill Fantasy is new, and it's amazing! You'll learn about rescuing princes from towers, dragons, and magic! :D I think there are about 100 new lessons from the last tree :)
Good job! The expanded tree came just in time for me; I was getting tired of looking for colored circles so I could turn them gold. Now there are lots!
Oh ok, I thought maybe it was some feature in Duolingo that I didn't have XD
I'm pleased to read that the tree I'm working on has the most lessons.
It is probably not coincidence that the 3 shortest trees in the graph are also the 3 most recently added courses... maybe we can expect in time, that volunteers will add lessons to other languages. That would be awesome.
Wow, gut gemacht! Herzlichen Glückwunsch! It's a really bit sad how small some other trees seem in comparion to the German one! I'm doing the French tree and the Irish tree and especially the Irish tree is so tiny! :o
Originally I worked on it steadily over a year, and then intensely in the summer holiday last year :) I think it was refreshed about six weeks ago, which put me at about 70% complete!
Hi, how did you make this nice graph?
Gratuliere, ich hoffe, dass ich auch bald mein Baum wieder noch beenden konnen. :D
With Excel! Kinda went through every tree and listed every skill and lesson! (I'm a bit sad)
Hey, I believe congratulations are in order, albeit belated ones :) About these graphs... I don't see them, where can I find them? I know your post is from a year ago... I'm currently struggling through the German tree myself
