What would you share in a presentation about using Duolingo in schools?

Saluton -

I've got a 30 minute presentation on what Duolingo can and can't do for language education (in a classroom, regular-type setting).

What would you put on the CAN DO list? What about the CAN'T DO list? The presentation is at ECIS, in Barcelona - teachers from international schools, largest concentration from Europe.

Thanks!

Paul

I would showcase the Schools feature. Give them a walk-through showing how everything works. :)

Hi,

I created a presentation a while back, so it does not include information about the dashboard, etc, but you may still find it useful.

Here its is:

¡Buena suerte en Barcelona! Tengo muchos amigos que enseñan español por ahí.

Mundaysa, thanks very much. Very clear presentation. Have you used the article upload and translating feature since this presentation or gotten feedback from folks who do?

Also, I'll direct those at my session to your presentation through helping them find this conversation. Thanks again.

Thanks again, Mundaysa - the presentation was well attended (about twice as many people wanted to attend as fit in the room. I am planning, with one of the participants, a more complete session next year, same ECIS conference (Vienna). Thanks.

Hi, thanks. Sorry for not responding sooner.

I have used the article upload very litte, but I think it can be a great way to have a more advanced class observe what are the skills neccessary for a good translation. Most people now already have a translator in their hands at all times, so I feel that we need to teach this skill as well.
