Completed my German Tree

I don't know how to start this, other than saying that I'm really quite excited. I've been working on this since July, almost every night, and I've finally completed the German tree.

Of course, I had to go back and finish all the newly added skills Duolingo threw at me, but it was a rewarding experience in the end. My appreciation for German culture, German people, and the German language has increased exponentially since starting the course, and I'm extremely grateful to all of those who made the course possible.

On another note, what now? Now that I've completed my tree, does anyone have suggestions for me in regards to learning the language? I'll strengthen skills and whatnot, but what else is there..?

Ich bin nicht fließend, aber, ich werde mehr lernen. Gute Nacht, Duolingo. :)

hey, awesome, congratulation :-)

In Duo, I'd suggest that you'd start the "immersion" section as soon as possible. At the beginning it could be intimidating, but start small, take your time, translate simple sentences, read the translation of those who are already in higher translation tiers, like +10.

For your listening, you may want to listen to slow news, there are good podcasts out there, like "slow German", just google it and you'll find. The Deutsche Welle's website also has tailored FREE programs for different levels of German language. Definitely check them out.

For "speaking" I would say the best way to start is to memorize short real conversation in German language, books like "Assimil, German with ease" are really helpful.

Keep up the good work, practice and read something in German every day, even if you're tired and think that you don't understand it. Eventually, all the hard work will pay off.

LG, Heschmat
