Cool, you can now discuss articles in Immersion! Thanks Duolingo!

Is it just me... or is the timer in Timed Practice going super fast??

Pretty fast, imho. Have you tried not bothering with caps and end punctuation? Also, accented letters take more time--which is why I don't bother with timed practice. I would rather type correctly.

Same here. It takes time to type the umlauts and accents and to capitalize words. Since Duo just tells me to "pay attention" to that but doesn't takes points away, I write everything in plain characters. But that deteriorates the quality of the practice, so I just dropped completely the timed practice. (Plus you can't take the time to analyze your mistake, which makes it completely pointless, IMO.)

It helps to think of untimed practice as the place to learn, and timed practice as the place to move what you've already learned into faster memory recall. I couldn't do timed practice at all until I went through the half of my tree I had completed, and redid it, drilled it in as solid as I could (hense i'm level 20 and not finished with my tree). Now I can complete the timed practice. Also, I don't use the diacritical (accent) marks or worry about punctuation or capitalization. However, if you don't already know where those marks are, it's good to learn that before leaving them off.
