"Het netnummer is lang."
Translation:The area code is long.
How long are telephone numbers in the Netherlands? Is this something that people complain a lot - having too many area codes/area codes being long?
An ordinary Dutch phone number has ten digits in total. Cities have 3-digit area codes, villages have 4-digit area codes. Cell phones have a number starting with 06. Like in the rest of the western world, hardly anybody bothers to remember phone numbers nowadays, so there's no reason to complain about their length.
