option to hide/reveal text when audio is provided?

I've started covering the page with my hand so that I can't see the foreign language text (in my case French) when I'm trying on a problem. I had noticed that I wasn't really listening to the speech, and even when I did, the text kind of "overrides" the problem solving process in my mind.

If possible (I know you have a lot to work on) it would be fantastic if the text was hidden with the option to reveal it. Preferably in stages, the first stage would reveal how many words were in the sentence, the second would allow you to reveal one word at a time, or the whole sentence.

I'm not suggesting that the written language isn't important, it's just that I find myself relying on the text and falling behind in understanding the spoken language.

It's also a bit tricky if you're studying French because things like "il mange" and "ils mangent" or "ces" and "ses" have the same pronunciation, and you sometimes have to look at the text to know which one it is.

well that's why you'd have the option to reveal it.

Just close your eyes. If you hear nothing after an instant, then open them and see what sort of exercise it is that doesn't use sound. This has exactly the effect you want--it's what I'm after, too. You'll get plenty of practice this way, and if you do the timed exercises, just keep your eyes open only for them. :)

That would be great! I do sometimes just cover up the relevant bit of the screen with my hand, but it'd be neat to have a feature.
