https://incubator.duolingo.com/courses/ru/tr/status

Awesome. Hopefully eventually there will be a Turkish for Russian speakers course. Also desirable are courses teaching Russian to French, German and Spanish speakers.

Yep. Guys, your russian sentence talks about a course of german for russian speakers, which is very weird.

Hooray, now Russians will be able to experience how hard Turkish is too! Impossibly irregular language, meet very complicated but largely regular language!

This one surprised me, but I can see how it (and its reverse) would be popular/valuable in Central Asian countries.

Central Asian countries don't speak Turkish, though the languages are related. I don't know how close they are to each other.

That is true, but Azeri (at least) is mutually intelligible, and Uzbek and Turkmen are closely related.

You seem to know more about it than I do :-) Azeri I knew was close to Turkish, but Azerbaijan isn't generally considered Central Asia.

That's a fair point.

I guess I was just trying to think of why this particular course instead of others.
