Vocabulary:

  • hinahon- calm

  • gusto - like

  • ako - I/me

  • nagsusulat - is writing/writes

  • libro- book

  • sulat - letter

  • bestida - dress

  • pula - red

  • kayo - you (plural)

  • may - have

  • nagbabasa - is reading/reads

  • diyaryo - newspaper

  • menu - menu

  • sila - they

Remember how the order of the words are different?

Sentences:

  • Mga lalaki ang hinahon. - The men are calm.
  • Gusto ko ng mga diyaryo. - I like newspapers.
  • Nagsusulat siya ng libro. - They are writing a book.
  • Gusto mo ng pulang mga bestida? - Do you like red dresses?
  • Nagsusulat ako ng sulat. - I am writing a letter
  • May mga menu sila? - Do they have menus?

Not many things are new here, but I will go over some. Notice how pula means red, but then when you attach it to a noun it becomes pulang? That is one of the many ways you can make an adjective modify a noun in Tagalog. Also, you may have noticed that when you use may, you don't need to use ng. If you notice anything confusing, just post a comment and I will explain it for you.

First person to translate these gets 10 lingots!

Nagsusulat ako ng libro at nagsusulat ka ng sulat.

Mga babae ang pula at pulang mga babae ang hinahon

May mga mansanas at mga saging kayo.

Gusto mo ng pulang mga mansanas?

Also, first person to write 3 sentences with 5 words or more gets 20 lingots!

Thank you so much for posting! I have been waiting for this. :-) I will see in the evening if I can come up with a few sentences, right now my mind is set to Catalan - a difficult course for me because I am still far from fluent in Spanish.

Edit: Okay, so here are my sentences.... :-)
Kumakain ako ng mga manzanas. (I eat apples.)
May ang lalaki ng menu. (The man has got the menu.)
Gusto ang babae ng bestida pulang. (The woman likes the red dress.)
Corrections appreciated!

Niiiiice!!! A few things: manzanas -> mansanas. I know why you did that haha May menu ang lalaki. I feel as if this is more natural, but if any natives see this and it's not, please correct me. * Again, I think pulang bestida sounds more natural :)

Great job!!!!! Looking forward to posting even more!
