Duo does not accept my translation : "Ask mummy to make this cake!" Mummy or Mum are British English. Can someone explain or tell Duo that my translation is correct and he should accept it.
Why "di"? Is "di fare" =to make. I would have put "a fare" which I'm sure is wrong, but don't know why.
mom is american. i would never use that word. i will ask for "mama" to be accepted. mummy and mum should also be accepted. simply report, everybody.
I use mom. Mum is English and I would never use that word. So either all will be accepted or only the Italian version, "mama." Also one should keep in mind that this is Italian thinking, not English or American thinking and sometimes, no oftentimes, things are expressed a bit differently, so cut duolingo a bit of slack please. We could all just say "mother."
Same with me I said ask mama and was told it was wrong. What is the difference between mom and mama???
