Missed a day, streak gone strange.

So I missed a day at the weekend.

Luckily I had my Streak Freeze equipped, so my streak is still intact on my homepage...

...and on the little symbol next to my name in the forums...

However, on my profile the pop-up over my streak has reset...

...and on my profile on the Android app it has reset too.

Bit of a bug maybe?

Thanks for all of the screenshots. This is not a bug! So, you missed a day on the 23rd, and it's now the 27th (4 days later). You have a streak for the site (overall) and each language. The wager is based on your site streak and so is the streak freeze. The global language streak remained (why you see 34), but the individual language streak did not (why you see 4). We'll working on making this clearer.

Also! The Android app still displays the language streak as you can see.

Kristin, in the Store area where we purchase the Streak Freeze, could the text be changed to read (suggested change in all CAPS so you can see the difference): "Streak Freeze allows your OVERALL SITE STREAK to remain in place for one full day of inactivity." A small note might also be added: "Note that the Streak Freeze does not preserve an individual language streak (or streaks) on the day used."

We can make this clearer for sure. Appreciate the copy suggestion too :) I'll bring this back to the rest of the team. Sorry for the confusion.

You're welcome, and thanks for your efforts. I saw the explanation that someone from the DuoLingo staff offered a little while back so I understood it, but I suspect a lot of people do not. Of course, I'm trying to avoid using my Streak Freeze, saving my lingots for when you offer the virtual vault display, or better still, virtual dragon hoard display options in the company store. ;-)

Steaks can be crazy, man. You've just gotta learn to live with them. http://www.duolingo.com/comment/1162611
