Subjunctive Present is the Devil.

It took me 93 (93!) sentences to get through subjunctive present review. For goodness sake, I am the worst french language student ever, or we really need more direction vis a vis Tips and Notes. Is anyone else struggling, or am I just so very very bad?

You're not bad at all. Normally it takes time to learn it to everyone (much less to other romance languages natives, true). I'd say sometimes it's the best to just take a grammar book and return to Duolingo after some external studying. After all, despite all the qualities of Duolingo, you are unlikely to completely learn the language just with it. I recommend te Grammaire Progresive series, it is very learner friendly, tons of examples and exercises. And once you dive into normal books, tv series, movies, you will see it everywhere, you'll get used to it ;-)

Congratulations! Getting through this obstacle must have taken lots of patience.

I struggle with subjunctives myself. You aren't alone. I did a review last night and kept jacking it up so bad I ended up switching to the app on my phone just so I had a word bank for some of those questions.

We'll make it through. We'll learn 'em eventually.

I felt that way about the subjunctive past. Kudos to you that you persisted through 93 sentences. I'm impressed (really, no sarcasm). You may want to read some additional explanations about the subjunctive. There are all sorts of rules and exceptions to the rules, so it takes a while. It's not just you.

Can I ask what sort of problems you were having with it?

As subjunctive, (present, imperfect or past), is used in a different way than in Italian, and the rules are many, and the exceptions are many too... I get mad in trying to learn it!!!
