Returned to duolingo after some time. Can't progress any further. Looks like a problem with some scripts or flash. So, I start new lesson. Everything goes fine till questions 16-25, after that words that I'm supposed to type or any other duolingo voice just disappears. I can still hear misc sounds - ones that you get on right or wrong answer etc. Tried updating flash and browser - not working. Reboot helps thou, but problem appears again after some time. Any ideas, anyone?
A friend of mine in computers said that the computer might be just fine but the upgrades to the Duolingo system might not match the drivers being used. Check with Duolingo Support to see what they say. Cheers, Bob
No ideas but I have had the same problem many, many times and am about to give up on Duolingo. At least I know I am not the only one with this problem.
Using older HP laptop running Vista- no sound on some questions, unable to "write what I hear" Laptop works fine on You Tube and other apps. Checked site to make sure all sound and microphone apps were turned on. Still nothing.
I have the same problem, it appears that if I click instead of using 'enter' it occurs less, but it is very inconvenient having to start over a section time and time again. It would be nice to get some answer about this, thanks
Same problem on Mac running Safari. Audio plug-in sometimes fails, and there is no way to reload or skip to the next question without quitting the session. Quite frustrating, especially during tests. If it's not possible to debug this directly, maybe there could be a "report a problem" or equivalent button on the question screen; or something like a "next" button, so we can report the glitch directly or just skip the question without having to quit the whole session. Thanks.
