I would like to use Duolingo in my classroom with 4th and 5th graders. Is there a way to block the flirting unit. I just took a look at it and it does not look appropriate for this grade level.

Does the "Show all words" checkbox on the "Privacy settings" link at the top on your dashboard not disable this unit if unchecked? It blocks other words like beer and wine, so I'd assume it would disable most of the Flirting unit as well.

Even if that doesn't work, the flirting section is mostly harmless. It's almost entirely stuff like "Do you want to be my girlfriend?" or "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?". It's been a while since I've redone the unit, but the only sentence I remember that's objectionable is "your place or mine?" and even that one requires adult thinking to catch the implication.

There is no way, but they have to be pretty advanced to unlock it. And on top of that, they have to pay thirty lingots. Also, it really isn't inappropriate, and uses mostly words they already know. If I were you, I would just tell the students that the Flirting section is restricted.
