The time has come.....
The time has come. For the past few days, I've been so lazy to do the lessons. I'm feeling so "unspiritful" everyday. Before, my daily goal is 50XP and it lasted for three weeks. But now I've changed it to 20XP/30XP a day. Now, I can't do as much as 50XP of new lesson or my brain will jammed.
So I want to ask your help. What will you do so that you'll be motivated again? I feel so down right now. But I think I won't change the daily goal to 50XP immediately. I need some time.
Some days I have only been able to do one quick practice just to keep my streak alive. After awhile I woke up again and got back to work. Don't worry, you just need a break.
I should be grateful. Yeah, you're right. I need a break. Thanks for your advice. Have a lingot. :)
I find watching videos of people speaking the languages you're learning (Turkish, German) very motivating because you see it and you're like "Wow I wish I could speak like that".
Do something other than Duolingo. The main point of Duolingo is it gives you motivation to learn the basics. You can just as easily learn the basics elsewhere, but Duolingo helps those who need a motivation boost.
So if you're having trouble finding the motivation to do Duolingo, find something fun to do instead. Do you play games like Clash of Clans or Minecraft? You can set the language of those to the language that you're learning and work on learning all the vocabulary in them.
Remember, the point is to have fun and learn a language, not to level up on Duolingo for the sake of levelling up. :)
:O are you a psychic? How can you now I play Minecraft? Haha. XD Btw, it is a really good idea! Thanks! Have a lingot. :)
Yes, I know. I didn't set a high goal for the sake of levelling up, but I want to finish it quickly. I think that is my mistake. I'm too hasty. Thank you for reminding me. :)
Honestly, I think it's fine to do 20 to 30 XP per day, especially if it's seeming like too much.
Okay, thanks. I've made up my mind. For now, I'll only be doing the strengthening with low daily goal without learning a new lesson until I get back my spirit.
Stick to only one new lesson a day, then review of one lesson up to 20 points. If you feel like it, you can always do more. By doing only one new lesson it is a lot slower, but not overwhelming.
Thanks. That's a good idea. :) But for now, I'll only be doing the strengthening with low daily goal without learning a new lesson until I get back my spirit. Have a lingot. :)
Sounds like a good plan, and best of luck! I'm sure you will be back on track in due time. Also, you are very generous with your lingots, and I'm sure you don't have many. I have lots, have 5 :-)
Haha. It's because I've realized that lingots doesn't have many function except for the streak freeze and bonus skills. Yes. I don't have too many. Thank you very much for the lingots. I very appreciate it. :)
Choose a goal that you can reach every day.
Some days I can do a lot. Other days I can't. I set my goal to 30XP because I know that I can manage to do that amount even when I am tired or busy. You need to set your goal to something achievable for you. If I had a higher goal, I would feel stressed about it, and then I'd probably give up. 30XP is sometimes difficult, but I know that I can do it if I try.
Any kind of practice is good. You don't always have to do difficult study. Sometimes I will do one new lesson, review one lesson, and then do a timed practice of general strengthening just to make up my XP.
If you keep doing a little bit at a time, and if you have a good reason for learning your motivation will come back. Don't give up. Keep studying and remember that it takes time to learn a new language.
Thanks a lot. I'll do it. Only a few practice for a day. I've learn a something. Don't be too hasty or you won't get much. For now, I'll only be doing the strengthening with low daily goal until I get back my spirit. I think I need some rest.
