Why I learn languages :)
A couple months ago I joined Foreign language class in my school where my teacher recommended us Duolingo to help us learn languages. Soon I became pretty engaged in Duolingo and how fun and easy it was to use (previously I thought learning languages was hard and boring).
First I began with Spanish, because it is easy to learn. Also, I live not far from Mexico, so there are plenty of people around that speak it. I love Spain and Mexico as well, and when I grow up I want to visit there. Finally, Spanish is very Latin oriented, so I will learn some Latin too.
Recently I added French, German, and Irish when I found out you could learn more than 1 language at a time. I am learning French because I love France and I would learn some Greek and Roman roots too. I am learning German because I would like to visit Germany, and it would help with roots, too. Finally, I am learning Irish because I come from Ireland and many of my relatives speak it.
I am also learning Chinese on an app called ChineseSkill, because Chinese has over 1 BILLION speakers and the writing system is fascinating.
In the future I would like to learn Welsh and Klingon when they become available, too. Welsh because it is a British Isles language, and Klingon because it is an awesome language!
Thank you so much Duolingo! :)
I have a friend who is using that same Chinese app. They have spoken well of it. Thanks for sharing your story! :)
Well, I learn German because I find it a fascinating language, and it's a very useful language in Europe. I learn French because my aunt lives in Switzerland and I want to visit her some day and maybe study there. English... I learn because it makes me able to talk to you xD
That is it! I hope you undestand what I'm trying to say.
Au revoir - Auf wiedersehen - Goodbye - Tchau
