El Punto Presente

I came across this on one of the translations from a fashion article...

"El punto presente en los jerseys también se tiñe de color y las coderas siguen siendo uno de los elementos para este tipo de prendas que más abundan en la temporada."

"El punto presente" seemed like a sort of idiom. Looked up the phrase online and didn't find any explanation, but based on context I got the idea of maybe "the main point" or in the fashion context above maybe "the signature" or "trademark" or "hallmark."

Was I way off or is that sort of on target?

Gracias! It's good to know it's confusing to Spanish speakers too.
