As far as I can see this sentence makes no sense grammatically - and I have no idea what it means.
I think it means he agrees with his father's viewpoint etc. but it's not natural daily english.
As far as I understand they have mistake in the answer. It should have been either:
"The sons meet their father."
or, as I've been told, in this sens it more likely that the translation would be:
"The sons resemble their father."
