Scriviamo in inglese!
Nice to meet you :-)) How long have you been learning English?
I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean by "just you?" Do you mean am I the only English person? .... if it's easier to explain in Italian that's fine, I do speak Italian. :-))
Yes, I think I'm the only English person to have replied to you but there are many English people and other native English speakers here on Duo.
A good idea Sara ... Hi Francesco, I'm Gena nice to meet you. :-))
Err! I have 1223 but I have been on the site for over 2 years.
Hello Fabio i'm Sara. You ara in "Scriviamo in inglese". I created this group
This is a great idea Sara but to avoid it being removed as spam you need a language learning element other than just conversation in English. I suggest that everyone tries to explain why they are learning English, don't worry about making a mistake, I will help you by making corrections if you would like me to and answering questions if I can although, you may have to wait as I am not always online. To make sure everyone has understood I will repeat that in Italian.
I'm agree with you Gena!! Honestly, I'm trying to learn English with Duo, 'cause my English is scholastic; And i want to push myself to be more confident with it. I don't speak (and write) english since i finish the high school, except for two or three holiday trips offshore. I think we have to find random topics to speak about. Just to start spontaneus conversations. Let me know what do you think.
And please, feel free to make corrections where it needed (or necessary?)
Thanks Fiby, I'm sorry to have taken so long to reply but it is not always easy for me to get onto the internet.
I'm glad you like the idea and it s interesting to hear about your reasons for learning English. You are obviously doing very well but there are some small errors which I will correct for you further on.
I am trying to improve my Italian because I used to live in Italy many years ago and fell in love with the country and it's people. I love to visit friends and famiy in Italy when I get the chance but when I can't physically travel there I enjoy talking to them via Skype.
Which countries have you visited? I have been to Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland. Belgium and Luxembourg. They are all beautiful in their own different ways but my heart belongs to Italy :-))
Now to the corrections, as I say you have done very well and although there look to be a lot of changes they are all minor points and your meaning is crystal clear.
I agree with you Gena!! To be honest, I'm trying to learn English with Duo, 'cause my English is from my school days ("scholastic" is not wrong but we wouldn't normally use this expression) ; And I want to push myself to be more confident with it. I haven't spoken (or written) English since I finished high school, except for two or three holiday trips overseas. I think we have to find random topics to speak about. Just to start spontaneous conversations. Let me know what you think.
And please, feel free to make corrections where they are needed (or necessary?) (either "needed" or "neccessary" are both correct, it is purely a matter of personal choice.)
There are other ways to write your sentences but I have tried to make as few changes as possible so that you can see how few mistakes you have made :-)) ..... I hope the corrections are useful but if you have any questions, just ask. :-))
Ci siete??? vi siete messi a parlare heeeehehehe-Are you there??? you've got to talking eheheheh
Hello Sara, Nice to meet you. If you don't mind, can I write to you in Italian and you can answer in English? Per essempio, quale parte d'italia ci vivere? Io abito a New Orleans, USA. e un piacere incontrarti !
Of course, you can also write in Italian, but I do not know how you will understand. Certo, puoi anche scrivere in italiano ma non so quanti ti capiranno.
Yes I have been working on Italian in DuoLingo for a long time. I want to learn the language better and I hope that one day I can visit Italy and use my knowledge to talk with people.
Mio padre ha amici che vivono a New York. My father has friends who live in New York.
Chi è italiano in questa discussione? if you do not understand this question do not worry, it means that it is not addressed to you.
I am not Italian but I do understand your question :-) Io non sono italiana, ma capisco la tua domanda :-)
Neanch'io sono italiana, ma parlo italiano e la tua domanda è chiarissima, grazie.
I am not Italian either but I speak Italian and your question is very clear, thanks. :-)
Sapevo che anche tu (e forse qualche altro) saresti riuscita a capirla considerando anche che sei al livello 25 di italiano che non è poco. I knew that you (and maybe some other) would able to understand considering that you are at level 25 of Italian which is not cheap.
