Timed lesson freezing after time's up
when the clock is down to 0:00 in timed lesson it often freezes. It only does, when I already entered something. It does not matter, if I hit enter or not.
-My internet connection was stable -I waited for up to 30 minutes
I experienced this problems on two machines both running Mac OSX and Firefox - duolingo was whitelistet in AdBlock.
If you experience the same problem, please reply here, mentioning your OS, browser and add-ons. Maybe we can help the crew to find this error.
---Update 10 December 2013--
I did not experience the problem for the last few days. Duo, did you fix it? Others, do you still have problems? Thanks.
---Update 13 December 2013--
Thanks for the fix. The problem I reported does not occur anymore. But now, the audio goes mute after about three or four sentences and stays silent until the end of the lesson. During listening comprehension, the audio is working. It only concerns the sound effects and the reading out loud of sentences that are also written out.
Can you tell me if this happened while using the practice button on your home screen or within a specific skill? Thanks!
I only used the practice button on the home screen so far. I will test it within a skill and report here again.
So it's happening relatively consistently? Has this always been the case or did it only recently become an issue?
It is happening since I started to use the timed pratice, which is only about ten days ago. But since then it happens consistently, when I enter text while the clock reaches 0:00 (except for today, when in the middle of each timed pracitce, the audio would mute).
I submitted a fix for this that hopefully took care of the issue. Please let me know if you experience it happening again :)
Thanks for the fix. The problem I reported does not occur anymore. But now, the audio goes mute after about three or four sentences and stays silent until the end of the lesson. In the next lesson I can hear it again only in the first few sentences. However, when there is a listening comprehension, the audio is working. It only concerns all the sound effects and the reading out loud of sentences that are also written out. This bug is not all as annoying as the previous one - so I am quite happy. :)
I used Firefox on Ubuntu. Duo is whitelisted in Adblock as well. I have Greasemonkey, but no scripts for Duolingo.
Sometimes it helps to click the "skip" button, but many times it doesn't help
