Do you press 'Looks Good' on your own work?

I'm new to immersion to please forgive my ignorance but whenever I finish translating a sentence I get a box prompting me to push 'Looks Good', 'Looks Bad' or 'Edit'. Is it normal to approve your own work or should I ignore this box?

Normally when you have finished translating a sentence, it will automatically have "Looks Good" pushed. If that doesn't happen, it's completely up to you whether or not you want to push that button. Personally, I don't.

Happy translating! :)

Thanks - I've been leaving it too. It just feels a bit weird to be telling yourself what a good job you have done. :-)

I never noticed a second step. I always just edit, then hit whatever button is needed for saving my translation. It might give an automatic "Looks good" or the "looks good" might be needed to save the translation. If not, no, I don't say that my own work looks good.

If someone has added a translation after I've edited mine, and their translation is inferior, I might select mine as the best translation. However, I rarely revisit articles I've translated. If it's not a commercial article, then it's all just for practice anyway. Someone else can come along and fix it. I got tired of the editing wars and practice is just practice. Am I really gaining extra practice by insisting my translation is right? Nah. If I notice I've made an error, I might update things though.

It's not prompting you, exactly. If you're in the "original" view (you only see the target language text and a pop-up box comes up for you to translate in), that box just shows you the submitted translation and how it will appear to other people when they click on that sentence. As Jkwilson said, the 'looks good' is usually automatically highlighted.

I have always seen it added automatically. I occasionally push "Looks wrong" though, for cases where I have replace a google-translate "translation" but where I don't think mine is completely correct.
