How to keep a good study habit?

Good morrow, sires and ladies!

I have come upon you in a matter of great tribulation! I have no knowledge whatsoever of how to keep a good study habit, and therefore I require your assistance at once!

Please tell me: How do you keep a good study habit?

For me attaching it to another habit has helped. The first thing I do each morning is turn on my computer and check on various games etc - Duolingo and Memrise are now part of that. I tend to do the same when I got home on weekdays too.

Thank you for this, good sire or lady. I will not lie - this was only partly helpful to me. However, such a good thing as replying to a fellow mortal has humbled me because of the nobleness in your character! I have only to wish you a good day, and you are blessed. Good day, humble, gentle, loving sire or lady!

For me I do duolingo in the morning while I am drinking tea. Doing it at the same time every day makes it much easier to remember that studying needs to be done. And as little as 10 xp a day can get you very far.

My son does Duolingo often since my house rule for him is that he isn't allowed to do anything on his computer if he first doesn't complete a lesson.

My scheme is plain and easy: just do it. Doesn't matter if you want, doesn't matter if you don't. I have my daily exp on 10, and sometimes, on lazy periods, it jsut helps think "Heeey, how long will it take to get these 10 points? Three minutes? I'll get it off my head now". Or "Hey, if I don't want to do ,tehre is always a Streak Freeze safety net, But still, why not do it now?" Then gradually, day after day, it becomes a habit on it's own. You start with 10, then get a spare minute and it becomes 20, then 30, and by the end of the day you find yourself with this

so, step by step.

You need to have a study plan. It's a good idea to have a schedule. I like to study first thing in the morning, but that might not suit you. Decide what's best for you. Next, you need to have an idea of what you will study. For example, I keep my Turkish tree gold. I check that first. Then I strengthen the skills in my reverse tree and I try to do a new lesson at least every other day. I have just added Polish and I will do one new lesson at least 4 times a week. The other days I will redo the old lessons because it seems to be really difficult. My goal is set at 30XP. I do more than that, but I know that if I am tired or busy I can still reach my goal. That helps me a lot.

Once you have your study plan, just do it every day for three weeks, even if you don't want to. After that, it will be a habit and it won't be so difficult.

I can most certainly study first thing in the morning! It is very good to wake up early and do some languages. Very healthy brain exercise! Thank you, Nerida!

Buy the timed practice and use it on the very first level. It will be very easy and you can do it over and over and still get 20 xp for each repetition. You will rack up a lot of XP and will start to level up quickly.

Do at least one XP each day in order to keep your streak alive. Soon you will grow attached to your streak and carefully cultivate it.

Pick a time of day that you think will be free for this and set a daily alarm to do it. If you need to postpone it to later in the day, be sure to not let yourself off the hook until you set a special alarm to make up the time.

well, okay then, but I would also recommend keeping a notebook of the words you learned, so you can study that when you don't have time for the computer.Plus it would be good for remembering accent marks and spelling!
