Well, the lawyer from the first sentence will protect us, have you been paying attention?
Да, будет защищать наш город от драконов наша бабушка, известный великий адвокат!
Who will defend the dragons in court? Justice and equality for... dragons.
Surely, it is a question that someone in Game of Thrones will ask in season 7 or 8.
This is exactly the kind of situation I imagine encountering if I visit Russia.
am i drunk or does duo really ask "who will defend our town from dragons"??
Why is this in the Crime and Justice lesson? Maybe the town needs legal advice against the crimes of the dragons?
This will be very useful! Thanks Duo, You never know when these dragons will attack ;) :D
Fun mnemonic fact: защищать ("to defend") is etymologically related to the noun щит ("shield").
Fighting драконов with a 50 megaton царь-бомбой may be a чуть-чуть overkill!
The topic of this section is justice so I imagined this happening in a court setting
For those who are new to Russian/Slavic mythology, we have the Slavic Dragon (Змей Горыныч):
Geralt of Rivia's lawyer will ask this rhetorical question in court in his plea to prevent his client from being sentenced to prison or death for some crime obviously.
My feeling is that is should be either save from the dragon or defend against the dragon. Native speakers what do you think?
