A suggestion to improve "timed practice"

I just tried "timed practice" for the first time and I think it's really helpful but after the first couple phrases I tend to have way more time than I need for the rest of the quiz and so I don't have to hurry at all (although I still try to go as fast as I can on each sentence because I think it can help me remember words and sentences better in conversation).

I think how "timed practice" is set up is really helpful and useful for beginners but I think there should also be another version where you get a set amount of time for each sentence (maybe depending on the length of the sentence), that way you have to go fast all the way through. Also, I think you should be able to pause it after you submit your answer because if there was a phrase or sentence you got wrong, you will have time to write it down.

I'm not really sure how to suggest this to Duolingo so I thought I would just put it here and maybe someone from the Duolingo team will see it. If you have any suggestions too you should comment below in case someone from Duolingo does read this!

Very interesting ideas. I like that you explained that some users like to write things down after they are incorrect, as I do that myself! Hopefully these things are added, as I really like having time limits to questions!

Mycket intressanta idéer. Jag gillar att ni förklarade att vissa användare gillar att skriva ner saker när de är felaktiga, eftersom jag gör det själv! Förhoppningsvis kan dessa saker läggs, som jag gillar verkligen har tidsfrister på frågor! {@style=color:lightblue}

Bardzo ciekawe pomysły. Chciałbym, wyjaśnić, że niektórzy użytkownicy lubią pisać rzeczy w dół, gdy są złe, bo to zrobię! Mam nadzieję, że te rzeczy są dodawane, które bardzo lubię czasowych pytania! {@style=color:red}

Syniadau diddorol iawn. Rwy'n hoffi eich bod eglurodd fod rhai defnyddwyr yn hoffi ysgrifennu pethau i lawr ar ôl eu bod yn anghywir, fel yr wyf yn gwneud hynny fy hun! Gobeithio y pethau hyn yn cael eu hychwanegu, gan fy mod yn wir yn hoffi cael terfynau amser i gwestiynau! {@style=color:lime}

Please ignore all the languages, I just want to practice each one. Languages; English, Swedish, Polish, and Welsh.

where you get a set amount of time for each sentence (maybe depending on the length of the sentence)

The current version of timed practice algorithm takes the length of the sentence, the type of the exercise, and some other things into account when it calculates the extra time.

Oh, I meant each sentence gets a set amount of time and the clock resets on the next sentence. So, for example, each sentence might get 7 seconds a piece. The current version awards you more time if you get a sentence correct, so if you get many correct quickly in a row you end up with much more time than you may need and therefore doesn't really seem like "timed practice" anymore. I hope you understand what I mean

There is a "Review Lesson" button at the end of the lesson (though it's grey, and very easy to miss) that will allow you to look at the sentences that you go wrong after the clock has run out, so that people who find it useful to write down those sentences can do so.

Unfortunately, you can't access the discussion threads from that review list, so you can't easily ask follow up questions if you want to.
