My language goals for 2016 are to finish all the trees I haven't already finished and make them all gold. I would also like to study Korean and Finnish outside of Duolingo and start Swahili when it is released on Duolingo. I also want to go back and do my Turkish and Dutch trees (I stopped doing them on Duolingo due to time issues but I want to start them again). I know that is a lot of languages but some of them are just for fun. I really like your 'say hello in 50 languages' goal because I taught myself how to count to 10 in 10 languages and how to say hello in 25 languages just for fun and a lot of people do not understand why.

I hope Finnish makes it's way to DL. All with time. Where do you study it?

https://www.duolingo.com/gingerninja3148

I haven't really started studying it yet but my school holidays just started so I will soon. I'll just study it with whatever free things I find on the internet. I defintely hope there will be a Finnish course on Duolingo one day.

My goals:

German related (these ones are important because I want to study in Germany/some other German speaking country):

1) Finish the tree. (preferably by early January)

2) Watch a TV series (with subtitles)

3) Watch a movie in German with no subtitles and understand it

4) Start and finish an advanced beginner/intermediate book

5) Get better at grammar

6) Become more or less fluent by the end of the year

Others (these are also important)

1) Get French for Russian into beta

2) Get Russian for English out of beta

3) Learn some more Portuguese

Hopefully writing these down will give me more motivation to actually do some of them :D

Good luck everyone else with your goals!

Complete Spanish and French trees. Have a good understanding of Russian and know the Cyrillic alphabet by heart. (Russian letters are easy in my opinion.) Start Hebrew course and advance rapidly (I used to speak and think in nothing but this language for five years as a kid but now lost the speaking part as an adult) Start Hindi, Swahili and Welsh course. Get an Esperanto penpal (which I've been avoiding due to me being an extreme introvert eeep)

I'm very interested in hearing others goals. :)
