Why can't I buy bonus skill?

Hi there! Here's the struggle. I wanna buy some bonus skill but I don't know how, well I do but that doesn't work. I thought you'd to have a certain level, is it true? And if yes, what level? Thank you folks!

You have to reach the first checkpoint before you can buy bonus skills. Not all courses have them, however.

Some courses give the skills a bit before the first checkpoint.

But you do need to have a certain minimum number of skills "under your belt".

Bonus skills are only available for Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, and italian. You unlock the spaces to buy them when you pass the first checkpoint in the tree.

Can someone tell me what we do with bonus skills? It seems risky to me :)))

They're a lot like regular skills, except that they're focused on a topic that's supposed to be fun. You practice and study the lessons. The only risk is spending lingots on the skill and discovering that you don't like the content, after all. That's a tiny risk, given that most of us have lingots to burn within a few months.

Some also get annoyed when the "General Strengthening" quizzes them on content from bonus skills and won't let them progressed until it's all golden - even if they may not think they want to remember "Is it hot in here or is it just you?" or "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" in another language.
