Hmmmm....my New Year's Resolution would be to learn every single language on Duolingo at the end of 2016!

Haha, no. I could never do that! My language-related goals for 2016 would be...

  • Finish my French tree

  • Finish my Esperanto tree

  • Finish my English for Spanish tree

  • Be able to write stories in those three languages

  • Speak Spanish to my Spanish speaking Great-Grandparents

Of course, I'd like to be fluent in those languages, buuutttt, I doubt it. :)

Hrmm, I have a lot, some lanugage-related, some general. Ones in [] are really just wishful thinking lol.

  • Finish at least 4 Danish novels
  • Read some more Icelandic children's books
  • Read a Welsh children's book
  • Actually start Russian
  • Stop smoking
  • Buy a new bass guitar (I sold mine about a year ago after not playing it for two </3)
  • Related ^^ see what the deal is with 3/4 size basses because my freakishly tiny baby hands will probably thank me
  • Watch the non-extended editions of LOTR because I have never experienced them
  • [Regularly leave the house more than once a week funtimeswithagoraphobia]
  • [Read a novel in Icelandic]
  • [Read something in Esperanto]
  • [Start writing little sentences in Danish]
  • [Get enough GCSEs to actually qualify for college]
  • [Apply to start college]
  • [Take a Russian adult-ed class at the uni]
  • [Ditto but for Welsh]

My goals that must be achieved my 00:00 1/1/17:

  1. Achieve Swedish level C1

  2. Achieve French level C1

  3. Achieve HSK level 2, but 3 would be nicer

  4. Achieve German B2.

  5. Start and finish Spanish tree

  6. Achieve level B1 in Spanish, B2 would be nicer.

  7. Commence 2 new languages (hopefully finishing both trees in time.)

Note that I must finish a tree to achieve any CEFR level, as I do not undergo testing until I have finished the tree.

Yeah, 2015 wasn't a very good year for me. I hope that 2016 will be a lot better. Here are some of my goals:

  • Finish all my trees for languages that I am currently learning and keep them all gold
  • Start learning Korean and Finnish
  • Return to my Dutch and Turkish trees which I deleted due to time issues
  • Learn how to play the guitar
  • Play sports outside of school or join a gym or something (get more active basically)
  • Start learning how to drive
  • Volunteer
  • Get a part time job
  • Get good grades in school

They are pretty much the main ones some of which I will be forced to do or expected to do anyway.

  • Read the Bible in Spanish (I usually read the Bible in English every year, next year I hope to do it in Spanish)

  • Complete the Portuguese for Spanish speakers tree (before the Rio 2016 Olympics)

  • Gild the Russian tree and start the Super Challenge in Russian starting in May (this is where you have 20 months to read 5000 pages of a language and watch 150 hours of movies (or podcasts) in a language)

  • Complete the Hebrew for English speakers tree (I have faith that it will be done sometime next year)

  • Do more in the French, Danish, and Irish trees that I started this year.

  • Run a 5k (without walking) and not come in last (I did my first 5k this year and I had to walk part of it... I had to stop running temporarily after injuring my foot, so I'm pretty much starting all over again)

I did three complete trees this year, and I'm finishing the Super Challenge this year in Spanish, so I think these are completely doable.
