It seems pretty logical when you consider it. The modifiers come before the word being modified. It's how english treats adjectives and nouns. First you say "blue" (the modifier) and then you say "ball" (the word being modified). "Far away" is modifying "live" so is put first. English reverses the order when it comes to verbs and adverbs, but there is no reason to think this is superior literacy. It is just the grammatical convension of the language.
