Spoken tests should be read
Hi. I started using Duolingo, and noticed that when you have to do a spoken test (use your microphone to pronounce a sentence), the sentence you have to speak is spoken to you by the computer voice. I think this kind of defeats the purpose, at least initially, since the voice already says what you have to say. I think it'd be better if the voice didn't speak initially, so you have to speak just reading it (but if you want help you can have the voice say the phrase or specific words perhaps).
Well perhaps. But I use speakers for all the other tests, I have no way of knowing which kind of test will come next, so I know I should turn off the speakers once the spoken test comes. Even then, I think it may be too much of a hassle, and it should be put into the system in the first place. It's not something hard to do, and it won't change much to those that don't care about it (want to hear the voice? Press the speaker button like always), but it would increase the "We are testing your skill" feeling.
