I love how Norwegian and Swedish are so similar. In Swedish: älskade du henne?

Could someone explain why "you loved her" was not acceptable?

as far as I know because 'you loved her' would not be the typical way to form a question in English.

You loved her = Du elsket henne.

"You loved her" is a statement, the sentence here is a question, ao it's "did you love her?"
