A realization!

Doing 4 and 1/7 skills on each of the 16 days of the Winter break will result in the completion of all 69 (including bonus) skills of the Italian tree! Let's do it!

Personally, I think this is a surefire way to not retain what you're learning :( There's a reason temporal space learning is deployed by duolingo, it makes you assimilate language easier and ofcourse faster.

Please trust the system, one skill a day at a time, I would say, max. I usually do 2 lessons every day, it's an optimal pace for me.

But if you do it and can prove that you've amassed it without flaws, hats down to you :)

For Kememmotar: Thanks a lot. I've recently discovered the fact that we earn one level after a certain amount of XP. I understand also that the Duolingo aim is not easy: to teach possibly dozens of languages... but at what level? At least the bases should be completely examined in depth. Let's assume that I write "an unit". It's wrong. No one explained to me the difference between vocalic and alphabetical sounds. The sentences are always very easy and the difficulty does not increase by repeating them. Do you make a mistake? the why is never said and often your right replies are considered wrong. Let's assume that this happens also with the language you want to learn... you are going to learn mistakes. Pronunciation: often I don't understand my language.... I think that a not advertised value given by Duolingo is the possibility to have direct help from mother tongue people on specific arguments. An exemple? I give you an Italian sonnet, by a Nobel prize for the 1934, Luigi Pirandello. Do you have difficulties in understanding it? Well, ask me and I will help you. Ritorno Casa romita in mezzo alla natìa campagna aerea qui, sull'altipiano d'azzurre argille, a cui sommesso invia fervor di spume il mare aspro, africano,

te sempre vedo, sempre da lontano, se penso al punto in cui la vita mia s'aprì piccola al mondo immenso e vano. Da qui, dico, da qui presi la via;

Luigi Pirandello

4 skills per day could be quite a challenge especially as some skills have up to 10 lessons and the material does get harder, but good luck in your attempt.

Gentlemen, you are quite right but... this is true if you start from zero. If you have a certain familiarity with a language, you have "only" to brush up (nice, this English expression! In Italian we would say "dare una rinfrescata"), to give fresh air to old memories... In less than three weeks I reached the golden tree in English and French: (level 11 for both) but now it's more than a week that these levels don't move. How did you manage to reach level 14, 15, TWENTY-FIVE? Congratulations, anyway and I am at your disposal for any question about my language!

Grazie Berto. Congratulations on your success and thank you for sharing your experiences. Encouragement from other learners is motivating! Have a lingot.

One drawback of doing the tree too fast is also that you don't get so many points from strenghtening your skills :)

I've been learning italian daily since July (5 months now) and I only do exactly 2 lessons per day PLUS whatever skills needs strengthening. I do it on timed practice, so I get double the points...

Thus, I'm 66% into the Italian tree and I'm almost at level 15 (7500 XP).

Have a lingot. I like your plan. It is a reasonable daily amount and simply achieving completion of the tree should greatly increase our experience with the language due to being exposed to more of it through the natural progression through the course. Let's do it!
