I am from Georgia and I know that maybe not many people would be interested in studying Georgian language, but it's ancient, known as very difficult language and it might have been a challenge for many. Also, it has unique alphabet (meaning you can't find any Georgian letter in other language or opposite). So I am interested, what would it take to add Georgian language on Duolingo?
You would need a large support community of people who want Georgian, as well as some other Georgian speakers to create the course. I'm not going to lie, I think the chances are fairly low, but my advice is to find other native Georgian speakers and see if you can get a lot of support. Making a course is a huge commitment.
Good luck! I would love to learn Georgian, it's such a cool language!
I wouldn't worry about peoples interest in the language, in Europe, Transcaucasus and Caucasus, and possibly Russia, there ought to be a quite interest in the language, it is a very interesting - but hard (as all caucasian languages...I think) - language of the Caucasus, which as you mention, very beautiful alphabet.
I hope it will come a course of this language pretty soon, which then will open way for other minor caucasian languages (even thou they are not related to georgian).
I would hope that there would be people interested in learning Georgian. It is a country with a fascinating history, particularly with regards to early and medieval Christianity to name but one thing. It would not personally be for me, as I struggle to learn languages that use something other than the Roman alphabet but surely there would be many others who would relish the challenge ?
