Is anyone using Periscope as an immersion tool?

I don't know of anyone locally who I could visit with and learn Ukrainian through an immersion process. So, I got creative and started using Periscope to follow broadcasters in the Ukraine to hear them speak and to follow the texts their viewers type.

I have only been studying for a little over a week so my challenge is finding Ukrainian broadcasters that are speaking Ukrainian and not Russian.

Has anyone else used Periscope to help learn a language?

The time I tried Periscope that was the first thing I did. :P I wanted to see how much casual Turkish I could understand. It was reassuring and informative, I guess. I think it could be decently effective as another means of exposure, but I didn't keep the app, so long-term I don't really know.
