New Year's Resolution?
Do you have any New Year's Resolutions? If you do,what are they and why?
I will start with mine.My first resolution is to become fluent in Portuguese.I'm almost halfway there, but I want to become 100% fluent because I adore the language and I want to be able to communicate with the native speakers. If there's any native Portuguese speaker that would like to help out by giving me their Google Hangouts then that's great. Also,I want to make better eating habits.I don't have the best eating habits, let me tell you haha. However, I want to make healthier juices by ditching the soda and potato chips for granola bars and organic juices and water.
My goals that must be achieved my 00:00 1/1/17:
Achieve Swedish level C1
Achieve French level C1
Achieve HSK level 2, but 3 would be nicer
Achieve German B2.
Start and finish another tree
Achieve level B1 in whatever language I chose to do in the previous goal, howeverB2 would be nicer.
Commence 2 new languages (hopefully finishing both trees in time.)
Note that I must finish a tree to achieve any CEFR level, as I do not undergo testing until I have finished the tree.
Thanks! I love your goals to! Is Esperanto one of the languages you wish to achieve B2/C1 level in?
That's true! My EN-ZH tree will be done before my German tree!
According to the tree, for example, don't compare between German tree (really big) and Esperanto tree (small) :) so, like the Esperanto tree can take 2 months, while German tree can take 5 months : 6 months :D
I want to be conversational in Dutch and Romanian and be fluent in Spanish and Italian :D
Not all of mine have to deal with language learning but here it goes:
1.) Be more confident
2.) Get rid of this cold
3.) Finish both my Portuguese and reverse Portuguese tree by the Summer Olympics (currently I am about halfway through my regular Portuguese tree)
4.) Finish my Spanish reverse tree (Spanish to English tree is already done)
5.) Start and hopefully finish my other reverse trees in Italian and French
6.) Get my Microsoft software certificates (currently working on attaining my Excel one)
7.) Get into community musical theater
8.) Join an a cappella or chorus group
9.) Enroll in dance classes
10.) I'm currently awaiting the arrival of two new ASL DVDs that teach medical signs, so I want to learn at least some, if not all those signs, if I ever need them (I was just taught the basics in my ASL class, such as "hospital" and "sick")
I plan on achieving B2 level in Catalan, Polish, Welsh, Romanian and Arabic. I've done it already in Portuguese. After all this, Basque will be my next goal. Hard but it'll be achievable !
Finishing the Polish Tree is my main goal for Duolingo, and possibly another tree depending on when I finish Polish and what languages are out(I'm hoping Hungarian will come out this year). I'm hoping to find a way to get formally tested on my Italian (hopefully a B1 level at least) so that I can use that for my resume. I would also love to get through the HelloChinese and ChineseSkill apps so that my knowledge of Chinese grows.
Outside of languages; I want to do yoga at least twice a week.
I want to graduate from college. Additionally, I'd like to have a native-like level in English, be fairly fluent in French and Italian and be able to communicate simple ideas in German.
I'd like to get the B2 certificate in both German and Norwegian Bokmål in February 2017 (with at least 70/100, I wouldn't like to barely pass the tests, it would feel like a good b1 rather than an actual b2). And I have to improve my English of course but I still haven't set a precise goal in that regard.
I'd like to take my best friend (my dog), and my surfboard to live in Northern Spain...
To speak a little Spanish to the locals...
To find the easy life... :-)
It looks very similar to where i live now in Cornwall, England... But without so many tourists! :-)
Cool..What part of the north would you like to live? There's so many beautiful cities there :)
Finding a nice, quiet corner of Galicia is my plan. Have you ever been there?
Yes I have!Galicia is beautiful, and it is also pretty quiet. There are beautiful beaches at the Cies and Ons Islands, which are off the coast.Which cities of England seem like a nice place to live?
