Both trees are golden, yeah!
My big day. My both trees are golden: English -> German and German -> English :-)) Thanks for help and motivation from some people. It was hard, when the English -> German course was upgraded. The new one is so much longer. But now it is done :-)) Enjoy yourself.
Do you plan to continue to use the program and keep both trees golden?
Also, are you learning the second language because you intend to use it or just for the sake of learning it. :)
I want to use Duolingo furthermore. A little bit with the trees, there are some lessons where I could get better. And a little bit with Immersion. I like to translate, I learn a lot in doing so.
I'm learning English, and doing both trees was very helpful. I use English in job. Until now I have to read only. But more and more I have to listen and to speak. So I have to practice a little bit more. Also it is wonderful to open the door in another language, other newspapers, other videos, films, podcasts, culture, countries and people.
Why are you learning German?
And merry Christmas!
I think the primary reason that I am learning German is because of the satisfying sense of accomplishment that I gain from learning it. I hope that I may be able to further use knowledge of the language in some way some day, but for now, it is primarily the sense of accomplishment. :)
I have noticed that I am beginning to think about German a bit in my sleep which is sort of fun. :) I noticed that when I awoke yesterday for some odd reason I was thinking about the words for onion and garlic (Zwiebel und Knoblach)
I really liked your comment: "it is wonderful to open the door in another language, other newspapers, other videos, films, podcasts, culture, countries and people."
I hope that as I gain a better grasp on the German language I can experience these things to a greater degree, (ie. newspapers, videos, films, countries and people. etc.)
Thank you or writing back to me.
Congratulations. I am impressed that you wrote in English- the language you are learning. Keep up the great work!
Congratulations !!!!! I am done with English -> German , and half way done with German -> English. I can't wait for the day when I can also say that I finished both. But it might take a while because I have like 10 skills to "golden up" every day , so I don't get much time to learn new skills :P
Congratulations! Did you find the German to English course worth doing? I'm considering doing it, but I wonder that I might struggle to motivate myself to complete the tree having already completed one German tree.
For me the German to English tree was easier. I have done it first. The English to German tree was much longer and more difficult for me. Both together give a lot of practice, vocabulary and grammar. Valuable, basic, short sentences.
Thanks for the reply! It's probably worth doing. Once I finish the updated German tree, I'll reconsider giving it a go.
Gut gemacht! I want to get back to my reverse tree when I finish the updated German tree. Though I'm very close to finish the English-German course.
You guys are in 100+ streaks and I'm here happy with my 10 days streak ... Got a long way to go
Wow. Congrats. Have two lingots for that accomplishment! I need to get working on the reverse tree again.
Congratulations!!! I'm trying to get the German tree golden since several weeks. This tree is sooooo long, it seems rather impossible if you have to do other things as well.
Thanks. Yes, indeed, the tree is very long, that is hard. But it is possible! And it is great and you have learned a lot if you are ready. Good luck and a lot of motivation!
Thank you! How many XP a day do you need to get them BOTH golden? I think I can get the English > German tree golden today, only for some hours. When this is done I'll do the Spanish tree.
Yeah! The deed is done! That was really hard work. You have my full respect for getting them both golden at one time!
I have no definite goal, how many XP a day I do. I do it with fun, sometimes it is "harder", sometimes is is pure fun.
Now I hold both golden and do some Immersion - when I have the time. Also I read English books and listen English videos. Oh, and I discuss a little bit in the discussions. Oneday I will learn Swedish, but I feel it is not the time point yet. Or maybe Spanish? I will see.
I've just started with Spanish. I've started learning Spanish 14 years ago (14 years??? Am I getting old? xD) but didn't get far due to lack of time, but now is Duolingo time. ;-)
