New Alaska Native Language?

Hi, my name is Mike. I live in Alaska. I would like to create a new Alaska Native language (Aleut or Unangax) in Duolingo. Do you know if there is a way to do this? Thank you. Mike

Qagasaakung! Thank you garpike! Great ideas. I am new to Duoling, and still learning.

You're welcome! I (and many others) would love to see some indigenous North American languages on Duolingo, so I wish you the best of luck with it. Duolingo has officially stated that it wants to help threatened languages, so I hope they can be persuaded.

Hi, in the future, please post only glitch reports to the Troubleshooting forum. General questions can go in the forum labeled "Duolingo". Thanks for applying to volunteer! :)

Thanks for the encouragement garpike, and the vote of support Klimovskikh. It means a lot.

If you can speak the language yourself, apply to make a course here:

https://incubator.duolingo.com/apply

If you know other speakers who also might be interested in contributing, encouraging them to do the same might increase the likelihood of Duolingo accepting the application (they need to be convinced that contributors will follow through and the course won't end up being abandoned--this is probably particularly important in the case of languages with very few speakers like Aleut).

Whoops, sorry, Usagiboy7. My bad. New to the form, and still learning. I appreciate the tip! And the kind words. I will shortly delete this thread and repost in the Duolingo forum. But, in my defense, Usagiboy7, it appears that the only option for posting is "Troubleshooting." I do not see a forum labeled "Duolingo." So this may be why I posted here.

No need to delete it. There is an edit button under your main post. You might be in the test group which means you must make more progress in the course before the other forums open for you.

Good luck! :)

You get access to the rest of the forums one you reach level 2. You can do that by doing language lessons :)

In order to make a corse you must know the language well . Then go to the duolingo incubator then apply for a corse and it will help you from there hope the advice helps.
