German Translations and Roman Numerals

Is there a way for the Duolingo software to recognize that a period after a Roman numeral in an article (especially the Wikipedia articles) in German doesn't represent a full stop but is actually something that should be ignored in English? I've seen lots of people not recognizing that a sentence they're translating has mistakenly been broken into two by the software - and I've seen too many of them marked as 100% translated, when there's obviously error in what's being submitted to whatever unknown entity gets the translations.

Very true. Captions from pictures in articles are often also strewn into the middle of sentences - this can be quite confusing if you don't view the original article.
