Until Duo has Afrikaans

Many people have expressed interest in adding Afrikaans to the Incubator, but it hasn't happened yet. For others who are waiting, I thought I'd mention that Mondly (https://www.mondlylanguages.com/) has an Afrikaans course. Mondly isn't as good as Duolingo and charges a fee after the free content, but it's been enough to hold me over for now.

Has anyone else found good Afrikaans learning resources that we can use until Duolingo supports it?

I'm learning Afrikaans and I'm using Mondly and Memrise. Besides, I'm watching some YouTube videos for the pronounciation and I'm reading articles. Here is a really good website that is not very fun but has all the content you need http://mylanguages.org/learn_afrikaans.php

I really hope that Duolingo will allow an Afrikaans course, I've tried many but Duolingo is the best device to learn a language

I strongly reccommend you try Memrise, It's learning style is somewhat similar to Duolingo and it has tons of languages. Considering the fact that you're fluent in English and you're at a very high level in German then I'm assuming that Afrikaans is extremely easy for you since it's words are so similar to that of German and English. Perhaps you could be a contributor to the course if you learn it quickly ;)

It isn't very similar to Duolingo, as it is a spaced-repetition flashcard program, not as structured as Duolingo. Anki is a downloadable alternative to Memrise, however with slightly less quality.

You might try the games on http://www.easyafrikaans.com/

The sentences are a little stricter on spelling than Duolingo, but there are other things, like crosswords.

(The about links through to another page (http://www.surfacelanguages.com/) by the same person with many languages listed, including Afrikaans (http://www.surfacelanguages.com/language/Afrikaans.html). I've seen this second site before, but haven't explored it.)

I find Mondly a bit rubbish. It's far too strict on answers, and a number of exercises haven't tallied, like asking for a translation of sonop but only giving you the translation for sononder. Means there are a lot of lessons I have to guess stuff on.

Haven't really found anything that works for me as well as Duolingo, so I'm really hoping an Afrikaans course hits the incubator soon.

I'm not a huge fan of Mondly, but I do use it to review some. In the section where you can buy the new lessons, enter the promo code MONDLY, and you can u lock everything for free.
