33 Days of Irish: I have finished my tree!
I have finally finished the Irish tree! My hard work has paid off! 33 days ago I started Basics 1 and now I am finished.
The last skill went by so fast. My computer was on 3% battery. My stomach was filled with butterflies, waiting for that moment when the golden owl would appear.
What I enjoyed about the course
I really enjoyed the Irish course. The grammar lessons were spaced apart nicely so you didn't get confused. Any difficult grammar was explained clearly in the tips and notes section. I enjoyed the lessons about Ireland!
What I didn't like about the course
There's not much that I didn't like. I found the prepositions quite hard to grasp. There were also days I had 20+ lessons to do and they were on days when I was extremely busy.
What I have learned
I have learned so much more than I ever imagined! The grammar in Irish was much easier then I previously thought, and I knew a lot more than I thought I did!
My plans for the future
I'm going to start reviewing some things on the tree and use other resources to improve and increase my proficiency in Irish. I am starting the German tree tomorrow, so hopefully that will go well.
There is one person I would like to thank. alexinireland! A bit more than a month ago, we both agreed that we were going to finish our trees by New Year's Eve. I set about conquering my Irish tree while he set about conquering his Danish tree. We have both completed our trees today and I want to congratulate hi on finishing his Danish tree. Gratulerer Alex! I probably wouldn't have done the Irish tree on time without you! You kept me going and kept me motivated! If there are others who cheered for me along the way, thank you!
Thanks for reading this! I wish you luck in your trees:)
Congrats! You finished it in 33 days?! Man, that's quick! At least for me...:)
I am in awe...I could never do that..Well, maybe not never, but still....That's truly awesome! :)
That is insanely fast. I do a skill a day, and even that is a lot at times.
Wow, I can't do that. For me Irish is a hard language comparing to the European languages :D
Well, I would say its similar to the other Celtic languages such as Welsh.
Wow, that is very impressive. Nice job! I don't know if I couldn't retain all that in my head if I learned it in a month.
I'm going to review the tree bit by bit now, but my main goal was to finish the tree:)
That's amazing that you were able to complete the whole tree in just 33 days! I've been doing Spanish for 12 days and I'm barely even half way through!
I do a row of skills a day. Sometimes it's a lot, sometimes it's not. I was a lot more motivated this time because I set a date to finish the tree.I finished my Norwegian tree in 50 days.
50 days is still a lot, that's amazing that you can go that fast! No matter what I do, I'll never finish my trees in such little time!
Great Job! I agree the grammar is super hard (word order, lenition, eclipsis, etc) but Irish is worth it! Can't wait for Welsh.
Thanks:) I'm not planning on learning Welsh, but I'll definitely try it when it comes out.
Congratulations! You deserve a couple lingots for that. :)
I am trying to get my Dutch tree completed in as short a time as possible, but I don't push myself when I'm exhausted (fearing I'll forget) so I'm looking at 3 months right now, which isn't too bad. ^_^
Very true! You inspired me to do two whole skill sets today. I may get this done faster than I thought. ^_^
There are some grammar concepts I must review first:) I think that I have reached a good level so far.
Well done! It took me 68 days to finish my French tree and I was already fairly familiar with basic French. I've started Irish but I find it really hard.
The grammar is quite difficult. It's very different to French, but I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. Good luck!
There isn't really any slow pace when it comes to language learning. Everyone finds their own pace.
Comhghairdeas! I am on Jobs right now, taking it slow. That's really good! I lost my streak and I hope to rebuild it once again! Ádh mor ort on German!
