Where will you go with your language?

People learn languages for lots of different reasons, but you can't deny that being able to talk with people around the world is a major perk. So where will you go with your new language and how do you plan on getting there?

Most of the flights I want to take will be imaginary- to other times and other places through the world of literature. I am studying mainly to be able to read in the languages of my choice.

Hey! It's a very interesting question.

I've been thinking a lot last month about moving to Canada after I finally get my college degree and hopefully work there. So far, I learnt (and keep learning) English and German; I want to visit Germany someday. I've had read a lot about its culture. Other languages like Dutch and Swedish, well, I am learning them just for curiosity. I don't see myself living in The Netherlands or even Sweden but probably I'll visit them. Talking about Russian or ukrainian, actually, I just know some basic basic words but I stay positive and, in a future, I'd like to read some books in those languages.

Thanks for asking :)

I live in Rochester New York and on a sunny day you can go up to Hamlin beach and see straight across Lake Ontario to Canada. I went to Toronto a few times when I was a kid and there are a lot of nice places during the summer. Before you move to Canada I have three words for you: LAKE-EFFECT-SNOW. The winter can be... unforgiving.

I think I'll try to go to Alaska, so there's no need to question the Spanish and the Dutch. What about you?

I will definitely not be going to Alaska to use my non-existant dutch skills. If you're serious about heading up there though you should check out the US national park service internship programs. You could spend a summer up there with travel, housing, and food costs covered. Plus you get stationed in an awesome national park!

Oh my god, thank you so much! (My Dutch skills are everything but existent, but they will be one day) I mean I'll have to get my German A-levels first but this is a really nice thing.

That's my plan for the future. If doesn't work out, I will go there someday anyways. By the way, why so many commas in your comment?

Hahaha interesting writing style! It makes me really slow, because whenever I read something I imagine a person saying the words in my head, in a natural speed. I take a long time to read your comments xD

Antarctica might actually become really interesting, it'll be like a cultural epicentre with all the international scientists there :D

I lived in a couple Spanish speaking countries and recently came back from Guatemala. Hopefully my other languages will take me to Turkey or any Arab nation.

Try out Tunisia, it's really beautiful there and the people are extremely grateful for every bit of Arab you speak.

Tunisia is one of the places I'd really love to go to. You've been there?

Yeah once, directly after the formal end of the Revolution. Quite rough but extremely interesting.

I would like to visit japan at least once, and france... or spain ,but I'M an antisocial idiot who couldnt get any friends there

Well, I believe it's not necessary to make friends with people immediately. Travelling in silence can be very calming I assume.
