Hi,

Any reason the Word tab is not available for Swedish learners?

Thanks! Christian

Pop on over to the `Swedish words' thread (https://www.duolingo.com/comment/12703002) recently started by @Nina931729 and check out the suggestion contributed by @slogger for a work-around.

Most feedback on the subject suggests that no one is holding their breath for that to happen. But it's nice that one can get flashcards in virtually any language on offer with this unorthodox little trick. I think it's a good supplement to DuoLingo's skill-strengthening functionality once one has completed a tree and is looking to keep practicing the included material.

It's because the Swedish course (and the Irish, Danish, Dutch, Turkish courses, etc.) were made with a different system to the German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and English courses. These six "original" courses have a system that tags words with part of speech, gender, etc. with allows a words tab and flashcards to easily be generated. Unfortunately, newer courses weren't made with the same system so a words list and flashcards aren't as easy to make. There's no word if or when a words tab will be added for Swedish, but for now we can only hope and wait patiently :) It might be worth checking out Memrise as there is often a Memrise course based on Duolingo vocabulary, and that will at least allow you to use flashcards.

See my other reply - English/Swedish flashcards do exist on DuoLingo, albeit only accessible through a backdoor of sorts.
