The translator fails to understand an answer.
In each microphone instance that requires of an answer of more than three words, the translator fails. "I don't understand your answer." I am at the point of quitting Duolingo.
You can always turn off microphone/speaking questions in your settings if you are having trouble with it (I never use it myself). No need to quit Duolingo because of this!
Agreed, talking to microphone is not a good way to learn proper pronunciation anyway
I turned it off once I realized that it let me pass when I said nein ("no") when it asked for ja ("yes"). Unfortunately, there is no way a machine can properly judge pronunciation... Maybe one day in the future.
Yeah. Same story here.
Much better way would be (as I learned from good people on these here forums:) ) is to just read everything outloud at first, and maybe later, once you're comfortable with language pronunciation, record yourself and compare to native speakers reading the same text. Many audiobooks can be found for that and you can even do it with movies or radio.
Make sure when you speak you speak slowly and loudly. When I did it I realized that I shouldn't say the next word until the word that I Jair said turns green to let me know that they heard it.
