I've been wondering the same since early. I advice you not to think about it, it seems to be a way to give an idea about "open-mindedness"! I don't know how on earth that would be the case! Or even why would someone pander to others by this means... but meh....

Ah, I think it's the weird issues with the font. All the Turkish-only characters are bigger than the others. It looks really ugly, but I think this is the first time it's tripped me up. It looks fine on this screen, but in the actual lesson, where the text is smaller, it really looked capital.
