Students not receiving emails

My students are not receiving emails when I give them assignments through the duolingo classroom. Is anyone else having this problem?

Duolingo needs to add a way for students to check assignments assigned to them from their own portal. Emails are blocked outside of our district for our students. Maybe add it as a notification or add an "Assignments" section.

Thanks for your input, we will look into this soon. Assignments are still going to improve and become even more awesome. Do your student use their own devices or the school's?

We want to use duolingo for our aftercare classes and emails are not convenient at all. Students don't use email a lot anymore. We would really appreciate having the assignments appear directly on their app (phone or tablet) when they are ready to use it.

Many people are currently having a similar problem, try out the Educator forums and see if there is anything that can help. I'll look into it, and let you know if I find out anything!

    Could it have gone to their spam folders? You may want to check that. Also make sure they have valid email addresses.

    We did check those things. It seems that this problem only comes up when I give XP based assignments. The students are getting emails just fine when the assignment is a skill goal.

      That's interesting. I tested it, and I get skill goal emails just fine. I'll try it again.

      I can't receive EMAILs from my teacher..... Probably they are doing an update or something?

      Hi Neurosauruspham! I just checked your account, and it seems that you are only in your own classroom, meaning, you are your own teacher. Are you testing that way and seeing you are not receiving emails from assignments you created for yourself? Please clarify so that we can help. :]

      Can you please tell us more? Are none of your students receiving emails? Do they all use the same email provider? What type of assignment are you creating that they are not being warned about?

      I thought I had already replied to this, but I don't see it here. My students are receiving emails when the assignment has a skill goal, but not when it has an XP goal. It was my 6th grade class that did not receive emails. We are all using gmail through the school.

      Thank you, we are still trying to reproduce on our end. Did your other classes receive emails normally? Also, is this the entire class or just a few of the students?

      Other classes did receive their emails, but the assignments were skill based instead of XP based. For the sixth grade, it was the entire class that did not receive the emails. I'll try changing my variables today to see what happens.

      So my theory was wrong. The 8th grade class received the emails just fine for an XP assignment and many of my 6th grade students are still not receiving emails for XP or skill assignments.

      @VillaCooper, if you haven't already, can you send the link to this conversation and the usernames/classrooms of the affected students (to teachers@duolingo.com)? We need their info to figure out what the issue is. Do you know if they receive other Duolingo emails at all?

      I am having the same problem. It´s quite annoying. Some students receive emails and others not. This wouldn´t be a problem if we could resend the assignment OR have a URL for it.

      Hi! If they are not receiving emails, please look at the Help page under For Educators -> "What if my student isn’t receiving assignment and password reset emails?" There are instructions there to help you troubleshoot. Sorry you cannot yet re-send or share URL. We're working on alternatives so that this doesn't stop assignments from reaching the students, thanks for pointing it out!
